PSA launches "Public Interest" campaign

06 February 2006

A survey of marginal state electorates shows that most people think that most public services are better delivered by public employees than by big businesses. They see that job cuts mean service cuts.

The survey was commissioned by the PSA and conducted by Auspoll. The people surveyed live in the seats of Menai, Miranda, Georges River, Ryde, Kogarah, Strathfield, Drummoyne, Gosford, Hornsby, The Entrance, Burrinjuck, Camden, Clarence, Maitland, Monaro, South Coast and Tweed.

PSA General Secretary John Cahill today announced that the PSA will campaign in the community over the next twelve months to raise awareness of the impact of job cuts on services.

Attached is the PSA's media release on the "Public Interest - Job Cuts = Service Cuts" campaign.
